Headstrong, Iconoclastic, visionary, these scientists have risen to the pinnacles of their fields and are producing amazing breakthroughs with bold, sometimes controversial methods. Ted Anton’s Eros,Magic and the Murder of Professor Culianu (Northwestern University Press) received the Carl Sandburg Award for Nonfiction. Anton was the primary editor of the New Science Journalists (Ballantine Books). A former Fullbright Research Fellow, Anton Frequently speaks about science on National Public Radio and WGN-TV. He is an Associate Professor of non-fiction writing in the English Department at DePaul University. Kent Forman is the Youngest of the Beat poets. His poetry led him to star in two musicals by Chicago legend, Oscar brown Jr. He has appeared on stage with such notables as Amiri Baraka, James Baldwin, Lorrain Hansberry, Allen Ginsburg and Maya Angelou. His poem “Chicago” won the Carl Sandburg competition of the Chicago Historical Society.Performers
