Inter-faith is a dialogue between traditions of belief. This evening we engage in a poetic discourse among practitioners of various World Religions. This encounter aims toward a deeper understanding of the complexity, beauty and significance of individual expressions of faith at a historical moment when religious aminosity grows. Bringing together aspects of the Inter-faith Diaspora creates an opportunity to re-visit the similarities that make humankind better.

Kuumba Lynx (kswahili for creativity) is made up of youth ranging from age 7-27 producing educational performances that include storytelling, dance, poetry, music, script writing, and drama. The group has performed at various venues including, Art Institute of Chicago, University of Chicago, Chicago Cultural Center, and Hot House. Kuumba Lynx routinely collaborates with community organizations around Chicagoland. Loose Roots is an ethnically diverse Korean American drum troupe based at the University of Chicago. Their purpose is to learn, share, and spread Korean culture, as well as simply to play this music they love as those before them have, and celebrate. ?Loose Roots describes how we as Korean Americans feel about our relationship to these drums, to our heritage, and to the history of our forebears.? Educato/community organizer Sonia X has performed at various colleges and universities in Illinois and Florida. Her poetry has also appeared in Not Necessarily: A Giant Breath (UIC poetry journal), Garland Court Review, Reflections Poetry Anthology, and American Poetry JournalPerformers
