Luis Alberto Urrea is the award-winning author of several books, among them Across the Wire. After doing relief-work on the U.S.-Mexico border for six years, he taught expository writing at Harvard. His fiction, non-fiction, and poetry are widely anthologized-most recently in The Late Great Mexican Border and in Best American Poetry. He has received the Christopher Award, the Colorado Center for the Book Award, the Western States Book Award for Poetry, and the American Book Award among others.

Raul Jaimes began working in the arts with the Latino Chicago Theater Company in 1993. He is also a founding member of the Gazelle Poets which published and anthology of the Live At Idao reading series including over forty poets from Chicago and abroad. Sonido Ink(quieto) is a Mexican/Chicano spoken word and music ensemble that blends spoken word with and eclectic musical sound that ranges from ska, punk, blues and hip-hop to experimental soundscapes. The group?s poets are Brenda Cardenas, (MFA in Creative Writing from University of Michigan) and Aide Rodriguez. The musicians include Jose Casas (guitars), Jesus Ortiz (drums), Ricardo Compean (saxophone) and Juan Compean (bass).Performers
