A Woman From Bronzeville Poets Celebrate the Life of Gwendolyn Brooks

Gwendolyn Brooks – She was the patron saint of Guild Complex. Her genorosity was immeasurable. She touched many lives trhough her powerful volumes of poetry and essays. Her social commentary set the tone for many poets who anchored the Black Arts Movement and gave a voice to millions of people around the globe.
Tonight members of Chicago’s poetry community will convene to celebrate our friend Gwen. There will be an open mic at 6:00 pm. Because of the featured reading we will start promptly at 7:00pm, just the way Ms. Brooks would’ve expected us to.
