Ruben Martinez, an award-winning journalist and poet, is associate editor at Pacific News Service and a correspondent for PBS’s “Religion and Ethics News Weekly”. Author of The Other Side, he has appeared as a commentator on Nightline, Frontline, and CNN.

The Washington Post described him as “One of the brightest voices of a new generation of Hispanic writers…” Intelligent, timely, and compassionate, Crossing Over explores the parallel effects of migration on the U.S. and Mexico and tells the human story of a family, a town, and two countries torn between one another.

La Paz is a three man hip-hop group based in Southern California. They mix melodic beats, with a stirring imagery, and a commitment to speaking on issues that most of hip-hop has left by the wayside.
