The First Books Series celebrates the work of first time authors.

Fran Zell is a fiction writer, poet and playwright. Her highly praised debut book, The Marcy Stories details one woman?s struggle to escape the dysfunctions of her past and find the love she longs for. A former feature writer and restaurant critic for the Chicago Tribune, Zell currently teaches and writes in Madison, WI.

Ian Bryan was born in Dickson, TN. Still a student, he is a former coffeehouse owner, computer programmer, mountain climber, and world traveler. He lives in Chicago and in Monteagle, TN. Arcadian Afterthoughts is his first collection of poetry and prose.

Author of And To The Republic, Blair Ewing is a former Child TV acto, semi-pro tennis player, congressional intern, lifeguard, golf course worker, teacher, billing clerk, polisci grad, student- radical, assistant brain at a government think tank, magazine distributor, freelance writer & editor.
