Poets for a Better Country

On October 12, 2008, in cities across the country, poets will speak out in an impassioned effort to “transform political consciousness,” according to Toi Derricotte, acclaimed poet and a key organizer of Poets for a Better Country/Pittsburgh.

Poets for a Better Country – Chicago presents a free evening of poetry with each poet presenting one poem. Tonight’s poets include Stephanie Gentry-Hernandez, Quraysh Ali Lansana, Erin Teegarden, CJ Laity, Sage Xaxua
