Tia Chucha Press is known for publishing fresh new work from a diversity of voices such as Mike Puican and Mary Hawley which are tonight’s featured poets.

Mike Puican’s poetry has been published in Crab Orchard Review and Spoon River Review. He regularly writes poetry reviews for Another Chicago Magazine. Puican has read his work in numerous poetry venues around the Chicago area and on Chicago Public Radio. His selection by Tia Chucha Press marks the first chapbook publication for this former Siam poet.

Mary Hawley’s poems have also appeared in numerous journals and anthologies including: The Bloomsbury Review, Stray Bullets: A Celebration of Chicago Saloon Poetry, and PowerLines:A Decade of Poetry from Chicago’s Guild Complex. Hawley has appeared at many Chicago venues and has been featured on Chicago Public Radio and WNUR. Her first collection of poems, Double Tongues, was published by Tia Chucha Press in 1993.
