Award-winning fiction writer, poet and Journalist, Sandra Jackson-Opoku is the author of two novels, “The River Where Blood Is Born” (Ballantine Books, 1998) and “Hot Johnny and the Women who Love Him (One World/Strivers Row, 2001.)

Opoku uses her poetic prose style to give Iife to intergenerational voices. Her novels intertwine multiple voices to create a story of a matriarchal bloodline. The night begins with a fiction open mic. Participants are given 5 minutes to read long or short fiction. All are encouraged to particlpate.
