This event highlights the talents of Chicago’s future poets, writers and community leaders. The participating women use various prompts to see what life experiences emerge in their writing, learn editing skiIls and perform their work as part of this eight week program.
GirlSpeak is a young women’s writing workshop and discussion group from Pedro Abizu Campos High School. The program is committed to raising consciousness about the uniqueness and commonality of women’s experiences.
GirlSpeak encourages diverse, creative, empowered responses to the challenges and choices young women face in today’s World.
