#whilewewatch – Documentary Film

Chopin Productions

Wed April 25th at 7p and 9p – Chopin Theatre provides a forum for  #whilewewatch, a film about sitting on the sidelines; passively watching our demise and a fear of getting involved.  This film is about new media challenging traditional media.  About giving access not only to protestors but also to New York’s special police forces.   About confronting anarchists about transparency.   We hope that traditional media will embrace the discussion about this movement trying peacefully to improve our very fragile world.  We hope the evolution will be televised.

Complimentary admission.

After screenings, #whilewewatch Director Kevin Breslin tunes will tune in via Live Feed from NYC

#whilewewatch, is a gripping portrait of #OccupyWallSt (OWS) media team who had no fear of a critical city government, big corporations, hostile police, or a lagging main stream media to tell their story.

Through rain, snow, grueling days, sleeping on concrete; they pumped out exhilarating ideas to the world. Fueled with little money, they relied on the power of Twitter, texting, Wi-Fi, posters, Tumblr, live streams, YouTube, Facebook, dramatic marches, drumbeats and chants.   Citizens came together at Zuccotti Park with energy, intelligence and guts to impassion their message, “We are the 99%.”

Through this film, we witness a new dawn with the power of social media.

Tickets:  Event is free.  Any donations go 100% to OccupyChicago.
