Sat Feb 12th 10a – Chicago Slamworks marks 25 years of Poetry Slams by recording slam stories from  Chicago’s finest poets – Mike Puican, Mark Hawley, Billy Tuggle, Andi Kauth, Emily Rose, Tristin Silverman. 

At noon a riveting recital from Ukrainian natives and St. Ignatius College Prep students Solomiya Chuyko and Vasyl Ilchyshyn  performing works of F. Chopin, L. Beethoven, V. Kosenko and S. Rakhmaninov.

The brunch concludes with a  piano recital by Ukrainian natives and high school students Solomiya Chuyko and Vasyl Ilchyshyn whom study piano with Oksana Pidruchna.  The repertoire includes

S. Chuyko performs – S. Rakhmaninov’s “Prelude G-Sharp Minor Op.32 #12” and  F. Chopin’s “Waltz C Sharp Minor Op. 64 No. 2.

 

V. Ilchyshyn performs – L Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata Op. 27 #2 (1, 2, 3 movements); V. Kosenko’s “Curanta” from “11 Etudes”; and  F. Chopin’s “Nocture E Flat Major Op.9 No. 2”
