Martynas Levickis is a Lithuanian born classical accordionist.  In 2004, he was the first accordionist to be awarded Lithuanian Queen Morta prize.  He is the winner of multiple 1st prize winnings at  71st Annual American Accordionist Association Festival where his composition “The Quiver” won 1st prize and will be published and printed in the US establishing him as a composer.

Martynas Levickis is a Lithuanian born classical accordionist. He studied at the Siauliai Conservatoire in Lithuania under the direction of Mrs. Maryte Markeviciene.  At age 12, Martynas began participating in national and international accordion festivals and competitions. He has entered accordion festivals in Lithuania, Italy, France, Netherlands, the USA, Poland, Estonia and Belarus, winning awards in all of the competitions. In 2004, he was the first accordionist to be awarded Lithuanian Queen Morta prize. He was given an honorable mention and prizes by Lithuanian President, the head of Parliament, the head of Siauliai region, the Siauliai city mayor and the Siauliai city Conservatoire. In 2005, he won the young artist scholarship presented by Siauliai city municipality Department of Culture. In 2006, the Siauliai authorities awarded him a new accordion for his achievements.

Martynas has recorded several compositions of Baroque and contemporary music. In 2009, he was invited to record a soundtrack for a new film ‘Ladoo’ by producer and director Rajita Shah.

Most recently, in the summer of 2009, he has toured US cities Chicago, St. Louis and Memphis and won multiple 1st prize winnings at the 71st Annual American Accordionist Association festival in Memphis. It’s worth highlighting the Category of Accordion Composition Competition, where “The Quiver”, composed by Martynas Levickis, won 1st prize and will be published and printed in the US establishing him as a composer. Martynas is currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London under the direction of Prof. Owen Murray.
