The night also includes a video screening of ?Kill a Blind Society.? Marivn Tate is the author of Schoolyard of Broken Dreams (Tia Chuccha Press). His poem ?Turn the Light Back On? appears as a song in ?The Blank Page,? a soon to be released independent film.

Marvin Tate?s D-Settlement consists of 8 various players: piano, bass , drum, percussion, and 4 background singers. Some of the members have performed in the past with Afum, Uptightly, Squishy and as D-Settlement have played Congress Theatre, Metro, Double Door among other venues from jazz to rock. Marvin mixes gospel psychedelia, blues to form innovations. He is currently working on a poetry manuscript entitled Mr. Orange and a part animation video called ?Mr Junkiemaker.? He recently recorded a story for WBEZ Ira Glass?s ?This American Life.? This proud father of a two year old video junkie has also created and sold bottle art from found objects. He has performed from New York to New Mexico.
