This program is a celebration. Tonight they share old and new works which reflect how spirit anchors us through the ebb and flow of change. Emily Hopper Lansana has been bringing words to life since childhood. After graduating from Yale University in theater studies. She moved to Chicago to pursue her performance interests. Inspired by storyteller Jackie Torrence, several years ago she began her storytelling career by studying with Shanta.
Glenda Fairella Baker began singing gospel music at the age of five. She has since become a specialist in African and African American forms of music. And she works as an improvisational vocalist for dancers, poets storytellers, and theater productions. She has also conducted music workshops for The Old Town School of Music.
