Monica Kendrick?s poetry and essays hae appeared in Hammers, Hyphen, The Lumpen Times, Chronicles of Disorder, Cokefish, Anti-Mensh, Paramour, Tunnel Rat, The Wire, and forthcoming in Maxine; since 1996 she has also been a regular contributor on music for the Chicago Reader. Increasingly driven towards interdisciplinary work in all realms, these days she?s working to bring to her poetry a greater sense of collaboration, improvisation, aurally, and call-and-response with other voices both inner and outer. For this gig she?ll be mathing up with some of Chicago?s finest improve musicians, in the service of conversation. Simone Muench is the associate editor for ACM(Another Chicago Magazine). Her work has appeared in Glimmer Train?s Poetry Presentation, Crab Orchard Review, Southern Poetry Review, Luna, etc. she comes from Louisiana but received her M.A. from The University of Colorado. Her manuscript Love?s Apostrophes won the 1998 Sheila Na-Gig Chapbook Contest. She was recently selected to receive an Illinois Arts Council Award for a poem published in Fish Stories. Simone is currently starting an online journal called Wire.
