Michael McColly teaches writing at Northeastern Illinois University and at the Newberry Library. He has an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Washington and an MA in Religious Studies from the University of Chicago. His essays have appeared most recently in Chicago Review, Beloit Fiction Review, and Seattle Review. He is currently at work on a collection of travel essays.

Joe Roarty has been a fixture at the Guild Complex since its inception. He served as curator of his own reading series at Yo Monnas? caf‚ and has had his work published in several journals and magazines including: Tomorrow Magazine, Hammers, Melancholy Breakfast, and In One Ear. Joe has been a regular at the following venues: Anotha Level @ Lit-X, Higher Ground Reading Series, Mad Bar and Guild Complex.

Mylesha Sargis is apoet, writer, storyteller and educator. Her book, Fountain of Youth, is an Iranian folk tale for children (Rigby educational Publishers). She received her B.S. in Psychology and Sociology from DePaul University and is currently attaining her Masters degree in Fine Arts in Writing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. The Latino Experimental Theater Co. explores the concept of death in Mexican culture and traditions. Their work will inerweave the past and the present using pre-Hispanic, popular and contemporary Mexican poetry as well as poetry written by latino poets in the United States.

All Natural consists of DJ Tone B. Nimble and MC/Producer capital D. Both in their music and in their live show the tandem builds off two of the essential elements of Hip-Hop (the DJ & MC). All Natural?s first 12-inch, 50 Years, took the underground Hip-Hop scene by storm. Trace Magazine in London dubbed it, ?One of the most beautiful Hip-Hop cut you?ll hear this year.? The group has toured in the United States, Canada, England, Scotland and The Netherlands. Toni B. attends Chicago State University where he is pursuing a master?s degree in education. Cap D. is currently editor of Diversity & the Bar: The Journal of the Minority Corporate Counsel Association.

Sue Ying Peery is a highly respected Chicago artist and Guild Complex Board member. From the streets of Harlem, where she grew up, to the streets of Watts, where she lived during the rebellion of 1965, to the streets of Chicago where she has been involved in such diverse organizations as Artists Call Against U.S. Involvement in Central America, Artists for Harold Washington, and Artists Against Homelessness- Sue Ying has been an ardent revolutionary, a passionate artist, and an indefatigable organizer for more than four decades.
